PSL 8 | A Circus League!

In the 19th century CIRCUS was an integral part of our entertainment resume; Technology and Time evolves and slowly but steadily CIRCUS has lost its charm from our so-called 'SOCIETY' and it has almost disappeared like the lost world of Jurassic Park. It's a bit unfortunate that the next generation will never witness one of the greatest shows and efforts produced by a human ever.

But hold on – We are a species called punters and thanks to PCB we can still enjoy a new form of CIRCUS called the Pakistan Super League. Just like CIRCUS you will have everything like gravity defying moves, comedy of errors on the fields, no logic joke from commentators, jaw draping match sequences and last but not least expected but unexpected jackpot style of the matches. These all-time great entertainment packages are available in PSL only, just like CIRCUS there will be no DULL moments in PSL matches.

Past Year Recap – PSL 7 was considered as the most balanced PSL ever held where it has everything for Viewers, Punters and Bookmakers. It was the first full fledged PSL organized in one shot after a deadly scare of COVID 19 era. Overall PSL 7 was good where everyone enjoyed the glory of Lahore Qalandars final victory in jackpot style and we (Khandada as a team) witnessed yet another glory in style with pin point and accurate predictions.

4) Weather Challenge – February and March are considered as dry months in Pakistan and no weather challenges around. But, considering the global shuffle of environment changes it’s wise advice to have a look at the weather forecast for the match day.

5) Venue Details – 4 different venues will be used in PSL 8. Teams like Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi will play their home matches at Karachi, Multan, Lahore and Rawalpindi respectively.

πŸ‘‰ National Stadium, Karachi – Home ground for Karachi Kings and considered as a hell for the bowler with short boundaries and fast outfield around. In recent times, Karachi has produced many high scoring affairs that can challenge Newton's law of gravity. Chasing team will always have an upper hand in Karachi and odds are they will support the majority of the chasing team only. Average Par Score is 180-85 at Karachi. Total number of matches allotted are 9.

πŸ‘‰ Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan – Home ground for Multan Sultans and considered as more of balance wickets for bowlers (specially spin/slow bowlers). Multan wicket has a tendency to slow as match progress so at Multan bat first team with runs on d board will always have an upper hand in the match. Average Par Score is 165-70 at Multan. Total number of matches allotted are 5.

πŸ‘‰ Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore – Home ground for Lahore Qalandars and considered for providing an unexpected JP from nowhere venue. As a punter you will witness more scripted matches at Lahore venue. Lahore wicket has also tendency to support spin/slow bowlers hence runs on d board will always have an upper hand here. Average Par Score is 165 at Lahore. Total number of matches allotted are 9 (Including 4 Playoffs).

πŸ‘‰ Pindi Club Ground, Rawalpindi – Home ground for Peshawar Zalmi and considered as an unknown commodity as we are witnessing first time PSL matches to be organized here. Rawalpindi was a new inclusion in the venue roster and it will remain a bit bluff how the pitch will behave. If we look into the stats of National T20 (Pakistan’s Domestic T20), we found that the venue supports the chase team for most of the time. As an analyst we suggest punter to first analyse how pitch behaves on this venue for 1-2 matches for caution betting. Total number of matches allotted are 11.

6) Team Karachi Kings – Babar Azam is no longer part of Kings, having moved to Zalmi during the trading window last November. He is the highest run-scorer in PSL history - aside from being the biggest name in Pakistan cricket at present - but that does not necessarily mean his absence will spell disaster for Kings. One of their most enduring problems last season was the inability to get off to quick starts, and while Babar may be prolific, he is not as pacey up top as most T20 sides would want. This year as well no differ, Karachi Kings have enough firepower in their bowling department but batting looks minnows. Karachi will play half of their matches at their home ground Karachi and they have to start well from the word go. As a punter be extra cautious with this team as they will again in frame to loot your pocket with bluff.

7) Team Multan Sultans – Multan Sultans have become a consistent team over the past 3 years, They have been the most successful franchise in terms of wins overall, finishing in the top two in the last three seasons and clinching the title in 2021. Sultans had a blockbuster last season. The most consistent team lost only two games out of 12, including the final against Qalandars, in the entire season. No other team managed to win more than six games in the group stage. Sultans retained their core intact with Mohammad Rizwan being the success story. Picked up through a trump card last season, Tim David was also retained but was demoted from the Platinum category to Gold. Shan Masood, Khushdil Shah, Rilee Rossouw, and Shahnawaz Dahani remain with the franchise. Abbas Afridi and Ihsanullah are the emerging-category retention. As an analyst we suggest to have an extra caution with the Multan Sultans match as their matches are more off bluff and bookie favour matches.

8) Team Lahore Qalandars – Lahore Qalandars are considered as RCB of PSL, albeit they have won their first PSL title last, that's the only thing that makes difference between Lahore Qalandars and RCB. Lahore Qalandars have built a strong core around Afridi, who is returning from a knee injury, and they let go of veteran Hafeez. David Wiese and Sikandar Raza could be a trump card for Lahore Qalandar as both are high-class ability to turn the match on their head. ‘It’s not over, Until it’s over’ – This famous quote matches Lahore’s team, they neither win easily nor lose. 9/10 matches of Lahore will go to the wire to last overs and that makes this team very special as that opens a wide trading and jackpot window for punters.

9) Team Islamabad United – Islamabad United have maintained the core of their batting line-up, both domestic and foreign, with Paul Stirling, Alex Hales, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Colin Munro all returning in 2023. They will be bolstered by having Moeen Ali - and as a replacement for him - Rassie van der Dussen, while Asif Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Azam Khan and Shadab Khan remain fixtures in a squad with fearsome batting depth. In Mubasir Khan, they also have one of the brightest young lights in Pakistan cricket. Islamabad United is known for their aggressive nature brand of cricket and is considered as a chase friendly team but they are short when it comes to defending the score.

10) Team Peshawar Zalmi – Babar Azam arrives and immediately takes over the captaincy, and how Zalmi and Babar work together would be fascinating. After seven seasons at Kings, a franchise that has been inconsistent throughout its history, he arrives at one that has sustained success; Zalmi are the only PSL side never to miss the playoffs and that trend will continue this year as well. Peshawar Zalmi has adequate batting fire in their squad but they will definitely miss a quality pace attack who can give support to Wahab Riaz. This could be Peshwar Zalmi’s good run year as they have the highest wicket-taker in PSL history in Riaz (103), as well as the most prolific run-scorer in Babar (2413) in their squad.

11) Team Quetta Gladiator – Quetta Gladiators is the most and worst inconsistent team of PSL, The only consistent thing about Gladiators is their faith in captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who is the only captain in the PSL to have remained in that position since the league's inception in 2016. Quetta have a massive problem with their local players as their overseas players are always doing well for them. This year all eyes will be Naseem Shah, Hasnain and Iftikhar Ahmed. Amid all the uncertainty over Quetta one thing is always certain that Quetta is a punter friendly team, do not bother with the end result, do identify your trade in the Quetta match. Keeping trading in Quetta’s matches will always be a key to success for punters.

12) Dew Factor – Dew factor will play a key and vital role in the outcome of the matches. Chasing team will have an overwhelming advantage due to the due factor and we could witness the same trend throughout the PSL. We suggest that, as a punter, do not dare to waste your money on defending a medium score but rather take extra risk on chasing a big score when you find jackpot odds. 8/10 times your investment will pay out if you follow our suggestion/advice.

13) PSL and Punters – PSL is considered as CIRCUS league; it is neither standard league nor non-standard league. PSL is hanging between just like seesaw. There is nothing like fav team term in PSL and the tournament will run in phases of flows so accordingly as a punter you have to take the wise decision while trading and trade according to flow. Don’t ever dare to take BACK entries in PSL, wait for good odds and LAY accordingly. PSL is also considered as a league of patience, as a punter, if you have a bit of patience and apply your mind you will be able to earn good results and money in PSL.

14) PSL Phases – Historically, PSL runs in 3 phases of 10 matches each that concludes 30 league matches. Phase 1 – First 10 matches of PSL would be more punter friendly, Phase 2 – Next 10 matches are more or less bluff and bookie matches, Phase 3 – Last 10 matches considered as punter friendly again. Here, punters have to strategies their trading sequences as per phase wisely to make more profit out of it. Here, punter friendly does not mean that every match will give you a jackpot but if punter can make good profit from these phase wise matches if they apply their mind and trade wisely.

15) Chase V Defend – Last year the ratio between Chase V defend was deep down and finished as 50-50%, but this year we predicted that chase will slightly upper hand in terms of ratio. In PSL 8 we can witness a 60-40% ratio of Chase V Defend. With the ratio you will also witness the same in terms of Jackpot Matches for Chase V Defend.

16) Chase JP Pattern – When any team fav team is in the chase and touch low odds in the start of the second inning that match could be your chase Jackpot match. In some cases, you can encash double jackpot as well but it all depends on how the match situation is panned.

17) Defend JP Pattern – We will use term 'CIRCUS' to identify the defend JP, when a team start doing 'CIRCUS' after 10 over in chase like, throwing wicket from nowhere, rates fluctuation, multiple drink breaks, injuries break and stretch the match unnecessarily to the last overs; These all are sign of defending a small/medium total.

18) Good Teams – Multan Sultans, Islamabad United

19) JP Teams – Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators

20) Bookie Teams – Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi

21) Punter Friendly Matches – Lahore Qalandars V Karachi Kings, Islamabad United V Lahore Qalandars, Lahore Qalandars V Quetta Gladiators, Quetta Gladiators V Karachi Kings

22) Top 4 Finish – Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, Multan Sultans, Lahore Qalandars

23) League Matches V Playoff Matches – As a punter always remember to not try to compare/replicate the performance of league matches into playoff matches. In most of the leagues playoffs/knockout matches were made to loot the punters hence apply your mind while playing the playoff matches and especially final. If you have earned a handsome amount and in good profit position during league phases then we suggest you cut short your limit to half while playing playoff and final matches and never bet with team emotions in final matches of any league.

24) Session/Lambi Calculation – We never promote playing on sessions but still if you want to play in a session in PSL then always play Lambi (Final 20th Over Session) session only. Always do have a YES (Back) Lambi session that opens after 15th over; 8/10 times your session will pass. Never do any advance YES / NO session bet in PSL as a best practice.

Additionally – We often hear about bookmaker related fraud in the market, sometimes when you are on a good winning note, a bookmaker refuses to release or withdraw your winning amount. This leads to further frustration to punter and act as salt on wounds. To avoid such things, it is better to play at your city’s local bookmaker only, in worst case if you are unable to find genuine bookmakers around you with 24X7 service then you can choose and trust on our own product ‘Khan Dada Online Hub’. Khan Dada – Always remember the name, it’s not only the NAME, it’s BRAND!
