The 6IXTY

We often say that ‘Powerful people come from powerful places’ but in the real world – ‘Powerful people make the place powerful’. This sounds like a fairy-tale but history suggests that Collapso Kings (Windies) are a brutal force of it.

When it comes to cricket and cricketing talks, we can’t discount Windies for many reasons like; Power-hitting, Entertainment, Celebration, Pool-Party atmosphere in ground, On-Off field drama and last but not least ‘The one n only – Universe Boss’.

By every passing showers of monsoon, world is changing at rapid pace and cricket which we called as ‘Gentlemen Game’ have neither only Gentlemen (as women’s are also there) nor it’s restricted to Game only; One game (Cricket)

It already has it’s own 5 different variant and this year we are witnessing another one called ‘The 6iXTY’ where every dot ball is counted to many. In many terms ‘The 6iXTY' is considered as MINI VERSION OF CPL as all of the six teams from the Caribbean Premier League and the three teams from the Women's Caribbean Premier League participated.

Background – ‘The 6ixty’ was inspired in part by the success of several local T10 competitions that have been organized around the West Indies. It is also meant to grow the women's game by building on the foundations established by the women's T10 exhibition matches that were played just before the 2019 CPL playoffs.

Chris Gayle has been named the Brand Ambassador for the tournament, with the trophy (the "Universe Boss Trophy") named after him.

Scheduling & Venue - The first edition of the tournament is scheduled to be played from August 24 to 28 at the Warner Park Sporting Complex stadium in St. Kitts and Nevis. There will be a concurrent men's and women's tournament, with all of the six teams from the Caribbean Premier League and the three teams from the Women's Caribbean Premier League participating.

There will be a total of 12 men's games and 7 women's games played, with each men's team playing 3 games, and each women's team playing 4 games. The playoffs in the men's edition will feature the 1st place team in the league playing the 4th place team in one semi-final, and 2nd vs 3rd in the other semi-final, with the final then to follow. The women's edition will go directly from the league stage to the final, which will be contested by the top two teams in the league stage.

Match Timing – Match will start from 10 AM Local Time (7:30 PM IST) onwards to late evening, Daily there are 3-4 matches are lined up with gap between each match is 2:30 hrs; means second match at 12:30 Local Time (10 PM IST), third match at 15:00 Local Time (12:30 AM IST) and last evening match at 17:50 Local Time (03:00 AM IST).

Venue Pitch Behaviour – Traditionally, Warner Park Sporting Complex, Basseterre considered as a good sporting wicket venue for cricket. Historically, the venue supports chasing teams more and wide-open space and windy conditions make it more difficult to defend totals. Ground has 4-5 different pitches, out of 2 pitches are very slow and support spins and slow bowling more; hence which pitch is used at what games will play a major role in match odds and outcome.

Weather - Warner Park Sporting Complex, Basseterre is based at St. Kitts & Nevis island and August month is considered as fair with chances of rainfall. As it’s island, rain can come at any stage of the match but as far as advanced weather updates chances of rain are minimal between 24th to 28th August.

1) First Things First - Tournament Format, Rules and Details – As a punter it is very important to understand tournament format and rules before moving ahead. Most of the people have less idea about it, so first check out the new things and rules first.

-- Tournament Format – Men’s 6 team and Women’s 3 team (All CPL Teams M&W) will be part of ‘The 6ixty’. Each team from men will play 3 matches so 9 league matches for men and each team from women will play 4 matches so 6 league matches for women. After completion of league stages, the top 4 teams from the men's team will progress to the Semi-Final and Final whereas the top 2 from women’s team will play directly in the Final. In total 19 matches will be played across 5 days.

-- 60 Balls and 6 Wickets – Each team has 6 wickets to play with, the team will be considered as all-out at the fall of SIXTH wicket. This is one of the important rules added that has not seen any variant of cricket considering number of overs (balls) are reduced. This rule will act as proper balance between bat and ball. This rule will also put a significant impact on match odds as the number of wickets are accounted towards the team totals.

-- Power-Play Overs – Each team has first 2 overs of Power-Play and The batting team can 'unlock' a third power-play over by hitting two sixes in the initial two power-play overs. This means if any batting team fails to hit 2 sixes in the first 2 overs, the team will not be able to unlock the third power play over, third power play over can take at any time between 3rd to 9th over.

-- 30 Balls from one End – There will be 30 balls bowled from one end before the action switches to the other end for final 30 balls, this means from one end 5 overs and remaining 5 from another end, so in a full match inning only 1 time end will change.

-- Five bowlers for each 30 balls set – The 30 balls will be delivered as 5 separate bowlers, with no bowler can bowl more than 12 balls (2 overs per inning). This means that a bowler can not bowl consecutive 2 overs from one end, he/she has to wait to complete the first 30 balls to deliver his/her second over.

-- 45 Minutes/Inning – It's a race against time rule for the fielding team, where the fielding team has to complete 60 balls (10 Overs) or start the 10th over in a 45 minutes timeline. In case the fielding team fails to do so, the fielding team has to lose one fielder for fielding for the last 6 balls of the game. This rule can be make/break for any match from punting and odds perspective, hence, be careful while placing bets for final overs odds/session.

-- Mystery Free Hit – Never heard or happened in cricket till date, This rule will cover double aspects in its own definition that is Entertainment + Book Position. A Mystery Free Hit is just like a fairy-tale where the audience at ground will VOTE a specific ball to be called as Mystery Free Hit on their mobile App and ground umpire will unveil it any time of course of the match. Each inning of the match will get one Mystery Free Hit that is announced by the umpire. This will act as a normal Free Hit, the only difference is that the run scored by the batsman is considered as an EXTRA (added in team total) but would not count as in batsman run tally or bowlers bowling analysis. Watch out for this rule as it also acts as a game/momentum change rule and they can run it as per their wishes, this rule can turn the table/odds in span of 2 balls only.

-- 20 Balls for match results – It’s mandatory to bowl a minimum of 20 balls of both innings to decide match results.

-- Super Overs in Knockouts – In case of TIE there will be no ‘Super Over’ in league matches due to time constraint except knockouts matches.

2) Take it as an Entertainment cum Punting – As a senior analyst of this line, I will suggest that you enjoy it rather than wasting your time/energy/money. Placing a bet on a 60 balls game are purely gambling or consider it as a session bet or one time trade. Better to avoid it as we have huge amounts of cricket running the whole year around the globe.

3) Short Formats Favours Bookie – As I mentioned at the time of 100 itself, the more short format, the more it favours the bookmaker as odds are fluctuated at rapid pace and time to think, react, trade is as minimal as seconds. A well-known cricketing term ‘You Miss, I Hit’ placed perfectly for short format punting. Be very careful and attain it if you placed a bet in it.

4) Good Teams – St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Trinbago Knight Riders

5) Chor Teams – Barbados Royals, Saint Lucia Kings

6) Trading Teams - Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs

7) Average Par Score – Considering Six Wickets rule anything between 120 to 135 is considered as par and good trading score for punters. Six wickets rule will act as a balance between runs on the board, number of wickets and match odds.

8) Personal Choice of Team – Personally, I would like to back St Kitts & Nevis Patriots to go all the way and clinch the title as more likely to hold ‘The Universe Boss Trophy’ by ‘Universe Boss’ itself for inaugural year, we can witnessed a great fight by TKR as well in the tournament.

9) Formula for Fast Cricket’s Fast Trading – In punting or gambling there is no any sure-shot or formula that works for many, but in cricket if you apply bit of common sense (which is not so common) and learn on surrounding and follow some strict rule incept by me and my team, you can take it as a long term profitable business on your fingertips.

-- Wait, Watch n Trade – It's a thumb rule for any league or series, first understand the league, market, odds fluctuation, fashion then trade. Check-out with initial 2-3 matches to get some knowledge and momentum to avoid error or loss.

-- Don’t Back It like Backham – Don’t make it early and back anything especially in the shortest format of the game, rather wait, watch and place your bet at good laying odds. In this format, rates fluctuate at the blink of an eye; why go back when you can lay?

-- Don’t B Greedy, B Needy – In this kind of format, 50-60p of odds trading is good enough and profitable in every aspect of the game, so wherever you got profit, make your book both sides and enjoy the game!

-- Choose your bookmaker wisely – We often hear about bookmaker related fraud in the market, sometimes when you are on a good winning note, a bookmaker refuses to release or withdraw your winning amount. This leads to further frustration to punter and act as salt on wounds. To avoid such things, it is better to play at your city’s local bookmaker only, in the worst case if you are unable to find genuine bookmakers around you with 24X7 service then you can choose and trust on our own product ‘Khan Dada Online Hub’. Khan Dada – Always remember the name, it’s not only the NAME, it’s BRAND!
