Suryakumar Yadav, who is the stand-in captain of Team India in the T20I series in the absence of Hardik Pandya, led from the front against Australia in the first T20I. He scored 80 runs off 42 balls to take India to a 2-wicket win. He hit nine fours and four sixes.
Suryakumar Yadav was helped by Ishan Kishan, whose 58 runs off 39 balls kept the required run rate under check. The southpaw hit two fours and five sixes. Also, the young Rinku Singh didn’t allow the momentum to go down after Ishan’s dismissal. He accumulated 22 runs off 14 balls, laced with four fours.
Earlier, Josh Inglis’ maiden T20I hundred took the visitors to 208/3 in 20 overs. He slammed 11 fours and eight sixes in his 110-run innings.
