Afghanistan Star Player Rashid Khan set to make comeback in Tests

Rashid Khan is set to make his long-awaited return to Test cricket for Afghanistan in an upcoming series against Zimbabwe. The star all-rounder, who has been battling injuries that kept him out of the Test format, is expected to feature after recovering from back surgery. Rashid had previously missed the Test series against New Zealand but continued to play white-ball cricket during his recovery.

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive Naseeb Khan confirmed that Rashid is ready to resume his Test duties. "We are confident that Rashid will play for us in the Test series against Zimbabwe," Khan stated, emphasizing that the team wanted to ensure Rashid was fully fit before taking on the physical demands of Test cricket.

However, a scheduling conflict looms for Rashid, as both the SA20 and ILT20 franchise leagues—where he plays for the Mumbai Indians—start shortly after the Test series concludes on January 6, 2024. SA20 begins on January 9, and ILT20 kicks off on January 11, forcing Rashid to make a tough decision on which tournament to prioritize.

This dilemma underscores Rashid's significance in global cricket, as he balances both national and franchise commitments.
