After 100th Test, Dimuth Karunaratne to take Retirement

Dimuth Karunaratne, the seasoned opener of the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team, has announced his retirement from international cricket. His final appearance will be in the second Test against Australia at Galle International Stadium, which also marks his 100th Test match. This significant milestone not only highlights his personal achievements but also represents a pivotal moment in Sri Lankan cricket history.

The match Is scheduled to commence on February 6, 2025, and is expected to be an emotional farewell for Karunaratne, who has been a cornerstone of the team for over a decade. Despite facing challenges in recent performances, he has accumulated over 8,000 runs and is celebrated as one of Sri Lanka’s most successful Test openers.
