Sheldon Jackson, a veteran batter for Saurashtra and former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player, retired from professional cricket on February 11, 2025, following a 15-year career. His final appearance was in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal against Gujarat, where Saurashtra lost by an innings and 98 runs. In that game, Jackson scored 14 and 27 runs.
The 38-year-old concluded his first-class career with 7,283 runs in 106 matches, averaging 45.80, including 21 centuries and 39 half-centuries. Besides his batting skills, Jackson was also a reliable fielder and wicket-keeper in limited-overs cricket for Saurashtra.
Jackson’s journey with Saurashtra began in December 2011. He played a key role in their Ranji Trophy campaigns, including the 2012-13 season, where he scored centuries in the quarter-final and semi-final, helping Saurashtra reach the final for the first time. His performances earned him a spot in the India A team.
Jackson retired from white-ball cricket in January 2025. He scored 2,792 runs in 86 List-A matches, including nine centuries and 14 half-centuries. In T20s, he amassed 1,812 runs in 84 matches, with one century and 11 fifties. He played nine IPL matches for KKR, scoring 61 runs.
