After 17 Years Malaysiya Set to Host U-19 World Cup

The second edition of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup is set to commence on January 18, 2025, in Malaysia, featuring 16 nations competing in 41 matches across four venues. This tournament provides a platform for young talents to showcase their skills on a global stage.

The participating teams are divided into four groups: Group A includes India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and West Indies; Group B features England, Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA; Group C comprises New Zealand, Nigeria, Samoa, and South Africa; and Group D includes Australia, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Scotland. Each team will play against every other team in their group, with the top three from each group advancing to the Super Six League stage.

The tournament opens with six matches on January 18. Notable fixtures include England facing Ireland in Johor and Australia taking on Scotland in Selangor. The Super Six stage will run from January 25 to 29, leading to the semi-finals on January 31 and the final on February 2 at Bayuemas Oval.

The Inaugural edition of this tournament took place in South Africa in 2023, where India emerged as champions by defeating England. This year’s event promises to further elevate women’s cricket globally.
