The all-rounder of the England cricket team, Chris Woakes, revealed on Friday that he was mourning the death of his father as he explained his recent absence from cricket. He did not feature for the Punjab Kings in the cash league, and at the end of April, he was left out of the squad. He further wrote, “I have spent the last few weeks with the people most important to me, which is my family. We are all obviously graving and trying to get through what is undoubtedly the hardest moment in our lives. It's a time like this when perspective is at its greatest.”
Woakes helped the England cricket team win the 50-over World Cup in 2019. He had made over 200 appearances for the England cricket team across all three international formats, with his tally including 48 test caps.
