Abhishek Sharma delivered a remarkable performance in India's T20I match against England on February 2, leading his team to a resounding 150-run victory. The 24-year-old cricketer from Amritsar scored an impressive 135 runs off just 54 balls at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, smashing seven fours and 13 sixes. This innings not only broke Shubman Gill’s record for the most runs in a T20I match for India but also set a new record for the most sixes in a 20-over match by an Indian player.

In the post-match press conference, Abhishek attributed his success to diligent pre-match preparations, including simulating match scenarios during practice. He expressed gratitude for the support from coaches and teammates, especially during challenging times.

Abhishek relished using the pace of England's fast bowlers and effectively targeting leg-spinner Adil Rashid. He emphasized the camaraderie among himself, Shubman Gill, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, stating that there is no competitiveness or insecurity among them, as they have been friends since their U-16 days. For Abhishek, playing for India remains the ultimate dream and achievement.
