After scoring a century in Vijay Hazare Trophy, Ishan Kishan boosts Champions Trophy hopes

Ishan Kishan marked his return to form with a stunning century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 134 runs off just 78 balls against Manipur. His explosive innings included 16 fours and 6 sixes, showcasing his readiness to rejoin the Indian cricket team. Although not yet confirmed for the squad, Kishan’s performance could significantly bolster the team’s chances.

The wicketkeeper-batsman last represented India during the 2023 ODI World Cup against Afghanistan, stepping in for an unwell Shubman Gill. In his ODI career, Kishan has accumulated 933 runs in 27 matches at an average of 42.40, including one century and seven half-centuries, with a highest score of 210. His ability to anchor innings while also playing aggressively makes him a valuable asset.
