After T20 World Cup Show Jasprit Bumrah won ICC Player of the Month Award
Throughout the T20 world cup tournament the dominance of Jasprit Bumrah was evident. The first bowler of Indian cricket team led his team to a long-awaited T20 World Cup victory, ending a 17-year drought for the trophy. Recognizing his stellar performance, the International Cricket Council awarded him the ‘Player of the Month’ for June on Tuesday.
India’s winning captain Rohit Sharma was also in contention for the ‘Player of the Month’ award alongside Afghanistan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz. However, Bumrah clinched the award due to his remarkable spell in the T20 World Cup final, which turned the game in India’s favor from an almost-defeated situation.
Bumrah said, “I am delighted to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for June. It’s a special honor for me following a memorable few weeks spent in the USA and West Indies. We have had a lot to celebrate as a team, and I’m delighted to be able to add this personal accolade to the list.”
