After Virat Kohli to score 11,000 ODI runs, Rohit Sharma becomes 2nd active cricketer

Rohit Sharma has made history by becoming the tenth batter to score 11,000 runs in One-Day International (ODI) cricket during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match against Bangladesh. The Indian captain reached this milestone in just 260 innings, making him the second-fastest player to achieve this feat, following his teammate ViratKohli, who accomplished it in 222 innings.

Sharma’s journey to 11,000 runs has been remarkable, especially considering he was navigating a rough patch in another format before bouncing back with a stellar performance against England, where he scored a commanding century. With this achievement, Rohit joins an elite group of cricketers that includes legends like Sachin Tendulkar and SouravGanguly.

As of now, the list of players with the most ODI runs includes:

  • ViratKohli– 13,963 runs
  • Rohit Sharma– 11,000 runs
  • Mushfiqur Rahim– 7,793 runs
  • Shakib Al Hasan – 7,570 runs
  • Kane Williamson– 7,036 runs

Rohit’s milestone not only reflects his consistency and skill but also reinforces his status as one of the premier batsmen in modern cricket.
