Ahead of IND vs AUS Test, Nathan Lyon throws open challenge to Virat Kohli
Veteran Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon has set his sights on the prized wicket of ViratKohli ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting November 22. Australia is determined to end their decade-long drought in the series, having not won the prestigious trophy since their 2-0 victory in 2014-15. Since then, India has dominated, winning the next four series, with Kohli, AjinkyaRahane, and Rohit Sharma leading the side to victory.
Kohli has been a formidable opponent for Australia, scoring 2042 runs in 25 Tests at an average of 47.48, including eight centuries. However, his recent struggles, particularly against spin in home conditions, have given Lyon confidence that he can make a difference in the upcoming series. Lyon, who was part of Australia’s last successful campaign in 2014-15, expressed his respect for Kohli but made it clear that he’aims to take his wicket.
