Ahead of Kolkata T20I vs England, BCCI’s fresh ‘team bus’ guideline in 10-point diktat gets implemented for Team India

The implementation of the BCCI’s newly introduced 10-point guidelines for the Indian cricket team began on January 20, 2025, ahead of the T20I series against England at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. This directive comes in response to India’s disappointing performance in the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia.

The guidelines mandate that all players must travel together on a team bus and attend the full duration of scheduled practice sessions. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) confirmed that no separate vehicles would be provided for players, emphasizing adherence to these new rules to foster discipline and unity within the team.

Suryakumar Yadav’s squad arrived in Kolkata over the weekend and commenced preparations for the opening T20I on January 22. The BCCI’s focus has shifted entirely to limited-overs cricket as India gears up for the Champions Trophy next month, following a rigorous Test calendar.

Additionally, personal managers or assistants associated with players are now prohibited from staying in team hotels, further enforcing the guidelines aimed at enhancing team cohesion. CAB president Snehasish Ganguly reiterated their commitment to these policies, highlighting their importance in promoting a strong work ethic within the Indian cricket setup.
