The BCCI Is reportedly considering a major leadership change for the Indian women’s cricket team following their disappointing performance at the T20 World Cup in the UAE. Harmanpreet Kaur, who has led the team since 2016, is at risk of being replaced as captain after India failed to advance beyond the group stages. This marks one of their poorest showings in recent years.
The BCCI Is expected to meet with the selection committee and head coach AmolMuzumdar soon to discuss Harmanpreet’s future as captain. This meeting will likely take place before the team for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand, starting on October 24, is announced.
Despite being a crucial player in Indian cricket, Harmanpreet’s leadership has been questioned, particularly after the team’s recent World Cup exit. Although her position in the squad is secure, her role as captain is under serious review. According to a source, the BCCI is contemplating a change in leadership and believes that this might be the right time for a transition. If a change is made, Harmanpreet will continue as a key player but may no longer lead the team.
