Ahead of the England Clash, Sunil Gavaskar advises India to ‘not think about the future'

The legendary batsman of the India cricket team, Sunil Gavaskar, has advised India not to think about the future ahead of their heavyweight clash against defending champions England in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. India is ready to take on England at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, October 29.
While speaking exclusively, Gavaskar said India should not think too far ahead, adding that if chasing is the way they want to win, then they should continue doing that. India has won all five matches in the 2023 World Cup.
Gavaskar said, “You just want to win. India should just focus on the next match, and that’s all. Don’t think too far ahead. If chasing is the way you want to win, then keep doing that. Don’t worry about the knockout stage as of yet. Just think about the England team. Don’t think about the future. The future will take care of itself.”
Gavaskar further added that “the opening, England, hasn’t gotten off to a start. If you look at all the teams that are struggling in this World Cup, none of them have gotten off to a good start. They've lost a couple of wickets in the first 10 overs. They don't have a platform for their other batters to come in and blast away in the middle overs. England's problem has been that they haven't gotten off to a good start with the bat or with the ball.”
