On Thursday, Ravichandran Ashwin was included in the ODI World Cup 2023 squad of India on the deadline day of final team submission for the tournament, which is going to start on October 5 in Ahmedabad.
Ashwin is replacing left-arm spinner Axar Patel in the 15-member squad after the latter was ruled out of the squad because of the injury. Ashwin made his return after nearly 20 months in the ODIs and took four wickets in two matches against the Australian cricket team. In the second ODI match against Australia at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, he took three wickets while giving 41 runs. He had already joined the squad in Guwahati before the first warm-up match against England on Sunday.
