In response, the BCCI has mandated that Gambhir’s PA now stay at a different hotel from the team. A source revealed that the personal secretary of a coaching staff member, previously seen at team hotels, will now be accommodated separately. BCCI officials expressed frustration over the PA’s presence in exclusive spaces, questioning how he accessed areas meant solely for players and selectors.
The new guidelines include restrictions on personal staff accompanying players on tours and emphasize mandatory participation in domestic cricket for national selection. The policy also discourages separate travel arrangements for players and their families to maintain team cohesion.
