As per report, Hardik Pandya to give Vijay Hazare Trophy a skip partly but keen to feature in tourney ahead of CT 2025

Hardik Pandya will miss the initial matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy due to personal commitments but plans to join the Baroda team later in the tournament. This 50-over domestic competition is crucial for Pandya and other Indian players as they prepare for the Champions Trophy 2025, set to begin in February.

Pandya recently participated in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he scored 246 runs at an average of 49.20, showcasing his all-round abilities despite Baroda’s semi-final exit. He has communicated his availability to the team management and is eager to contribute upon his return.

The Baroda team, led by Krunal Pandya, is placed in Group E and will kick off their campaign on December 21 against Tripura. Following that, they will face Kerala on December 23, with additional matches scheduled against Bengal, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi later in December and January.

Pandya has focused solely on white-ball formats and has no immediate plans to return to red-ball cricket. After being stripped of the T20 captaincy earlier this year, he aims to solidify his position in the national setup through strong performances in domestic cricket. His participation in the Vijay Hazare Trophy will be closely monitored as it could impact his selection for future international assignments.
