Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has been excluded from the IPL 2025 commentary panel, despite his efforts to retain his position. The decision came after players expressed concerns about his allegedly biased commentary.
According to reports, Pathan was aware of his impending removal and attempted to secure his spot through a close associate. However, the broadcaster had already decided against including him.
The exclusion stems from complaints by several Indian cricketers who accused Pathan of injecting personal biases into his commentary, both on-air and on social media platforms. One unnamed Indian cricketer reportedly went as far as blocking Pathan’s number following his critical remarks during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Sources claim that Pathan’s personal agendas against certain players have been an issue for the past two years, ultimately leading to his removal from the commentary panel. The BCCI and broadcasters could no longer overlook these concerns.
In response to his exclusion, Pathan has turned to YouTube, launching a new channel called “SeedhiBaat With Irfan Pathan.” He announced this venture on social media, asking fans for their support as he continues to provide cricket analysis through this alternative platform.
