As per report, Sri Lankan frontrunner to replace Gambhir as mentor in IPL 2025
According to the reports former captain of Sri Lanka cricket team Kumar Sangakkara is set to join a new franchise before the Indian Premier league season 2025. Currently he is associated with Rajasthan royals as their team director. But according to the report he is looking for offers from other franchises and is going to make his decision in a few days.
Report also stated, Sangakkara is in talks with Kolkata Knight Riders to become the side’s mentor for IPL 2025. He will be replacing GautamGambhir, who left the side to coach the Indian national team after leading the franchise to their third title in IPL 2024. The report claims that Sangakkara, who is presently a part of RR, wishes to part ways with the franchise and is looking for offers from other teams.
The legendary batsman of Sri Lankan, known for his elegant strokeplay and astute cricketing mind, has already made a significant impact as the Director of Cricket for the RR. His tenure has seen the team reach the IPL final in 2022, showcasing his ability to build a winning team. Sangakkara’s potential departure would undeniably be a setback for the RR.
