As players are leaving IPL 2024 midway, Irfan Pathan issues an angry warning to them

On Thursday, the former fast bowler Irfan Pathan weighed in on the controversy involving English players who are leaving IPL 2024 to be a part of the England squad ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. Pathan, much like another Indian great, Sunil Gavaskar, was simple in his opinion. He asked the departing players to either come for the whole season or not come at all.
The response of Irfan Pathan follows the English board's asking all its players to join the team ahead of the T20 World Cup. Most of the players, excluding the likes of Phil Salt, whose team, KKR, has already qualified for the playoffs, are either returning home or leaving for the USA, where they will directly join their team. On Wednesday, Sam Curran confirmed that he and Jos Buttler will leave for the USA in the coming days.
Pathan had a clear view of the debate raging for the past few days. He wrote on X, previously known as Twitter, “Either be available for the full season or don’t come!”
Earlier, former batter of team India Sunil Gavaskar had offered his views on the controversy, claiming that the BCCI should punish the players who are leaving IPL and cut the 10% fee of ECB that the cricket board gets from each player playing IPL.
