As records tumble like pack of cards against Ireland, Pratika Rawal 154, Smriti Mandhana 135, India 435/5

India's women's cricket team achieved a historic milestone by posting their highest-ever One Day International (ODI) total, scoring 435 runs for 5 wickets against Ireland in Rajkot on January 15, 2025. This remarkable feat came just three days after they had set a new record with 370 runs in the previous match of the series. The latest total not only marks India's highest in women's ODIs but also their highest in any ODI format, surpassing all previous records, including those held by men's teams.

Openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal were instrumental in this achievement, both scoring centuries. Mandhana made headlines by reaching her century in just 70 balls, marking the fastest century by an Indian woman in ODIs. She finished with 135 runs off 80 balls, hitting 12 fours and seven sixes, equaling the record for the most sixes by an Indian woman in ODIs. Meanwhile, Rawal scored a brilliant 154 runs off 129 balls, showcasing her talent with 20 fours and a six.

This match also highlighted India's growing prowess in women's cricket, as they became only the third team to surpass the 400-run mark in women's ODIs, joining New Zealand and Australia. The partnership between Mandhana and Rawal of 233 runs is now the highest opening stand for India in women's ODIs at home, solidifying their dominance in the series against Ireland.
