Australia's cricket team suffers a major setback as the injury of this star player forces a late change to the squad

Only 3 days before the start of the much-awaited finals of the World Test Championship at the oval, Australia's cricket team suffered a huge setback as the star bowler was ruled out of the campaign, which forced a late change to the team. Before the match against India, which is going to get started on June 7, experienced seamer Josh Hazelwood has been ruled out because of his own Achilles and side issues.
Hazelwood has been suffering from this injury for a long time, which led to his late joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2023 Indian Premier League season. The struggle for him continued even after the early stages of their campaign, and the Australia Cricket Board decided not to take the risk with the fast bowler because of the busy schedule ahead.
Australia named in-form all-rounder Michael Neser as the replacement in the 15-man squad for the final. He had played only two Test matches in his career till now and could now be in contention for a place on the playing XI if the management opts to go for him over Scott Boland. The replacement was approved by the World Test Championship Final's Event Technical Committee.
Neser's inclusion comes down to his impressive run in the County Championship for Glamorgan, where he picked up 19 wickets in only five matches while also scoring a century against Sussex.
