Babar Azam becomes the Joint fastest to complete 6000 runs in ODI history

In a remarkable achievement, Babar Azam has become the joint fastest player to reach 6,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs), accomplishing this milestone in just 123 innings. This historic feat was achieved during the final match of the tri-nation series against New Zealand on February 14, 2025, at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

Babar, who entered the match needing only 10 runs to reach the landmark, has now equalled the record set by South African legend Hashim Amla in 2015. With this achievement, Babar becomes the 11th Pakistani cricketer to join the exclusive 6,000-run club, alongside notable names such as Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Yousuf.

Throughout his ODI career, Babar has maintained an impressive average of 55.98, with 34 half-centuries and 19 centuries to his name. His ability to consistently perform under pressure has solidified his status as one of the leading batsmen in world cricket.

As he continues to break records and set new benchmarks, Babar's journey in international cricket remains closely watched by fans and analysts alike. This latest milestone further cements his legacy as one of Pakistan's cricketing greats.
