BCCI names replacements as Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube & Yashasvi Jaiswal excluded from IND vs ZIM squad
A few days after the announcement of the Team India squad for the IND vs ZIM series, the BCCI has come up with three necessary changes. Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who were all part of the T20 World Cup winning squad, have been removed from the Zimbabwe tour, and in their place, Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma and Harshit Rana have been included.
The reason behind this is the World Cup victors are still stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl, the venue for the IND vs SA T20 World Cup final, and will not be able to make it in time for the series. In fact, team is yet to reach India. So, even when Samson, Dube, and Yashasvi do reach India, they would be fatigued, hence the move. The BCCI also confirmed the same.
