BCCI unwilling to have India vs Pakistan matches in Dubai; against PCB’s partnership model

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is seeking a compromise with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the Champions Trophy 2025, proposing that all matches between India and Pakistan be held at neutral venues, specifically in Dubai. This suggestion arises from the ongoing stalemate over India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan for the tournament. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that if India does not agree to this arrangement, Pakistan would also refrain from sending its team to India for future matches.

Under this proposal, all ICC matches between the two nations over the next three years would take place in neutral locations, ensuring fairness and safety for both teams. The PCB believes this solution is reasonable, especially since India is set to host major ICC events in the coming years, including the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 and the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Despite initial positive responses from both boards, the BCCI has ultimately rejected the PCB’s proposal. The PCB remains firm in its stance, indicating that if their conditions are not met, they cannot expect cooperation from Pakistan in future tournaments. The situation continues to evolve as both boards navigate complex political and logistical challenges.
