Big Blow to Team India as Mohammed Shami suffered a knee Injury

In a significant setback for Mohammed Shami’s comeback plans, the Indian pacer suffered a knee injury during his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Reports indicate that Shami has developed “swollen knees,” which may sideline him for six to eight weeks. This injury comes as he was making strides toward returning to competitive cricket after undergoing Achilles tendon surgery earlier this year.

Shami had recently resumed bowling and was expected to participate in the upcoming Ranji Trophy season starting October 11. His absence is particularly concerning as India prepares for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, which begins on November 22. The BCCI’s medical team is currently assessing the situation, but this latest injury could jeopardize his participation in the five-Test series.

This is a blow to India’s pace attack, as Shami was anticipated to play a crucial role alongside JaspritBumrah and Mohammed Siraj
