Despite early dismissals of openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney, Australia showcased resilience, largely thanks to Travis Head, who continued his impressive form.
Katich specifically criticized Siraj’s short-ball tactics against Head, noting that while Head is typically uncomfortable with bouncers, the Indian bowlers failed to capitalize on this weakness. He pointed out a glaring strategic mistake when Siraj bowled a bouncer without having a fielder at third man, calling it “dumb cricket.”
