Brett Lee hails India pacer, “No disrespect to other bowlers but Bumrah is miles ahead”

India’s inconsistent performances in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy have been largely attributed to their batting struggles, which continued into the third Test in Brisbane. Although the match ended in a rain-affected draw, the team management is eager to see improvements in the batting department. JaspritBumrah has emerged as a standout performer for India, taking key wickets throughout the series.

Bumrah’s exceptional bowling included dismissing both Australian openers and centurions Steve Smith and Travis Head during the third Test. Australian cricket legend Brett Lee praised Bumrah as “world class,” while also acknowledging Mohammed Siraj’s efforts to fill the gap left by Mohammed Shami, who is recovering from knee issues.

Lee noted that while Bumrah shoulders much of the bowling load due to his exceptional skill, Siraj has bowled well despite some inconsistencies. Bumrah’s statistics on Australian soil are impressive, with 53 Test wickets at an average of 17.15, making him India’s leading wicket-taker in Tests down under.

However, Siraj has struggled to find crucial wickets at key moments, and the team management has rotated between HarshitRana and Akash Deep to bolster their bowling attack.
