Carl Hopkinson is the New Head Coach of Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians have appointed Carl Hopkinson as their new fielding coach ahead of the 2025 IPL season. Hopkinson, who recently concluded a seven-year tenure with the England men’s white-ball team, brings a wealth of experience to the role. The former Sussex batter played 64 first-class games and has been part of two World Cup-winning campaigns with England in 2019 and 2022.

This marks the third addition to the Mumbai Indians’ coaching staff since the last IPL season, following the return of MahelaJayawardene as head coach and Para Mhambrey as a franchise coach after their respective roles with Team India. Hopkinson’s appointment also signifies the end of James Pamment’s seven-year association with the franchise, during which he contributed to two IPL titles in 2019 and 2020.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Hopkinson stated, “I’m excited to join such a prestigious franchise and work with a talented group of players to enhance our fielding skills.”
