Chairman of the ICC Greg Barclay and CEO Geoff Allardice both will be going to meet the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Najam Sethi, at Lahore headquarters to discuss the issues related to their national team's participation in the ODI World Cup in India, which is going to start on October 5. Apart from Sethi, they will also meet PCB COO Barrister Salman Naseer and other senior board officials. As of now, the city has maintained the stand of the PCB that if India doesn’t come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, they will also demand that their games be played in Bangladesh.
Barclay and Allardice will both like to get a clear picture and also break the deadlock with regards to the issue, as an India versus Pakistan game in Dhaka will be a very bad advertisement not only for the BCCI but also for the global body.
One of the insider officials of the PCB claimed that Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Afghanistan have all conveyed to Shah that they have no issue playing a few games in Pakistan and that the rest of the events should be held in Sri Lanka in September.
