The batsman of Australia and the Delhi Capitals, David Warner, became one of us, exclaiming with happiness seeing Rishabh Pant actively taking part in the IPL 2024 auction. Missing the entirety of 2023, Pant is set to make a solid comeback in the tournament, not just as an impact player but as a captain.
David Warner wrote on X, "I love seeing the skipper with the paddle.”
Rishabh Pant has been out of cricketing action since he suffered a severe car accident in December 2022, resulting in the tearing of all three key ligaments in his right knee. The entirety of 2023 saw him on the sidelines, undergoing recovery at the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. It wasn’t until the second half of this year that videos started circulating on social media, indicating his return to batting. However, it remained unclear whether he had also resumed wicketkeeping.
Addressing the franchise ahead of the mini-auction for the IPL 2024 season, Rishabh Pant finally broke his silence on his speculated return. He revealed that he is currently in a much better place than he was a few months ago but emphasized that he still needs a few more months to achieve 100 percent fitness.
He said, “Much better, given what I was doing a few months ago. I’m still recovering to 100 percent, but hopefully in a few months I will be able to do it.”
