'Dil Dil Pakistan Wasn't,' Vaughan mocks Pakistan after the defeat to Afghanistan

Michael Vaughan has trolled the management of the Pakistan cricket team for the second time this week after the men in green slumped to their shocking defeat against Afghanistan at the 2023 World Cup. The former captain of the England cricket team took to Twitter and humorously attributed Pakistan's humiliating loss to their team anthem ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ not being played across the Chepauk stadium.
After the defeat of Pakistan to India earlier in the tournament, team director Mickey Arthur slammed the World Cup 2023 authorities for not playing ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ at the Narendra Modi Stadium and claimed that the match seemed like a BCCI event instead of an ICC event.
Following the absurd complain of Mickey Arthur’s at the post-match press conference after defeat to India, Michael Vaughan playfully implied that Indian Captain Rohit Sharma’s strategic move was to ensure the DJ refrained from playing ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ song. While speaking at the ‘Club Prairie Fire’ podcast alongside Australian cricket legend Adam Gilchrist, Vaughan quipped:
“Without doubt, Rohit Sharma’s best move, and the move that won them the game, and the Pakistan coach alluded to it afterwards, is Rohit obviously saying to the DJ, Just do not play ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’”.
As it turned out, Pakistan also ended up losing its subsequent two fixtures, first to Australia in Bengaluru and then to Afghanistan in Chennai. After the latter of those two defeats, Vaughan once again took to the microblogging site and jokingly claimed that the Pakistani team anthem was not played in Chennai during match time.
He wrote, “I presume ‘Dil Dil’ Pakistan wasn’t played in Chennai today.”
