During Kolkata Knight Riders’s season opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, the star all-rounder of Kolkata Knight Riders, Andre Russell, completed 200 Indian Premier League sixes.
Andre scored a quickfire 25-ball 64, laced with seven sixes, to help the team post 208 in its 20 overs. He created history in the IPL while reaching 200 sixes as he became the fastest to hit in terms of balls faced.
Andre reached 200 sixes in 1322 balls, claiming the record with a big margin as his compatriot reached the mark in 1811 balls. The third on the list is Kieron Pollard, who reached 2055 balls.
Meanwhile, he also became the ninth batter to reach the 200-six mark in the IPL's history. The list is headed by Chris Gayle, who is the only batter to cross 350 sixes.
