During Sri Lanka's tour, Sairaj Bahutule will join Gautam Gambhir as India’s bowling coach

On the Team India tour of Sri Lanka Morne Morkel will not be traveling to Sri Lanka with the team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has made a temporary arrangement, appointing Sairaj Bahutule, associated with the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, to serve as the interim bowling coach for the six-match white-ball series in the island nation.

Sairaj Bahutule will join the Gautam Gambhir-led coaching staff, which includes Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate as assistant coaches. T. Dilip, who was with the previous dispensation under the former head coach of team India, Rahul Dravid, will continue to be the bowling coach. All the coaches will leave for the island along with the players. Bahutule has been part of domestic sides like Kerala and Bengal, coached the India A team, and is currently part of the NCA.

On the other side, Morne Morkel won’t be Team India’s bowling coach for the upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, as the fast bowler, who worked alongside new head coach Gautam Gambhir at the Lucknow Super Giants, will likely join the Men in Blue after the 6-match series, which ends on August 7.
