During the 1st ODI, Dunith Wellalage opens up on plan to Rohit Sharma.

The all-rounder of Sri Lanka, Dunith Wellalage, gave an all-rounder performance in the first ODI match of the three-match series against India. The game was played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday, August 2.
Wellalage bowled nine overs and gave only 39 runs while taking big wickets in the form of Shubhman Gill and Rohit Sharma. Gill tried to play a sweep and hit one straight up in the year with KusalMendis completing a simple catch.
While talking to the reporters after the game, DunithWellalage opened up on the dismissal of Rohit Sharma and his role in the powerplay. He said, “We knew that the wicket was spinning. So CharithAsalanka had told me that I would be bowling in the power play. I had good support from the wicked, and with Rohit at that time, I was trying just to bowl wicket to wicket because I knew how much help there was from the pitch.”
The two wickets proved to be important in the end, as despite the good start India got, they were bundled out for 230 with the match resulting in a tie.
