While some teams, like the heavyweight Indian cricket team and the New Zealand cricket team, have been unbeaten, the likes of Pakistan and the Australian cricket team have also lost multiple matches. The cricket world cup has also seen its share of upset victories, with the Afghanistan cricket team getting the better of defending Champions England and the Netherlands defeating the world number 3 cricket team. South African fans have also lapped up the Cricket World Cup experience. However, there have been videos where fans have engaged in fights inside stadiums. One such video has been widely shared on social media.

The Australia cricket team got their second consecutive victory in the 2023 World Cup as they defeated Pakistan by 62 runs in an important match for both teams. Team Australia dominated Pakistan bowlers, with David Warner scoring a century and also scoring several records in the process. Mitchell Marsh also scored a ton, bringing up a huge 259-run partnership.
