England cricketer Joe Root is counting on his squad to learn from the mistakes of the 2019 World Cup as they are going to defend the title in the ICC ODI Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which is going to be held in India. This year, when England will be traveling to India, they will have a chance to become the third team to win back the championship. Four years ago, when Team England raised the trophy at home, Joe Root was a member of the squad.
Now Joe wants to repeat history by winning the World Cup title in India, as he still remembers the super over match that took place in the finals of the 2019 World Cup at Lords.
Root said, "Having the experience of 2019 and how good that was and how much that meant for the group and for them to go out and get the opportunity to defend it is something we are really looking forward to."
He further said, "We are going to have to play some really good cricket, and we are going to adapt to different conditions and have the consistency you need, so we will see how we go."
