Ex Indian Cricketer favors KL Rahul over Sarfaraz Khan

Former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel has voiced his support for KL Rahul over Sarfaraz Khan for the second Test against New Zealand, despite Sarfaraz’s impressive 150 in the first Test. Rahul’s recent struggles, including a duck and a mere 15 runs in Bengaluru, have raised questions about his place in the playing XI, especially with Shubman Gill returning from injury.

Patel emphasized that the team management has consistently backed Rahul, suggesting that this loyalty should weigh in his favor. He acknowledged Sarfaraz’s strong performance but believes that Rahul’s experience and the faith shown by selectors are crucial factors.

As India prepares for the Pune Test, the decision between these two players remains pivotal, with both having compelling cases for inclusion in a squad aiming to bounce back after an eight-wicket defeat. The upcoming match will test the selectors’ resolve as they navigate the pressure surrounding Rahul’s form and Sarfaraz’s rising profile in the team.
