Fakhar Zaman ruled out of the India game in Champions Trophy

Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of Pakistan’s upcoming match against India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to a knee injury sustained during the tournament opener against New Zealand. The injury occurred just two balls into the match when Zaman attempted to field a ball and immediately signaled for medical assistance. Although he briefly returned to the field, it was evident that he was struggling with discomfort.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that Zaman is being assessed for a muscular sprain, and further updates on his condition will be provided in due course. His absence is a significant blow for Pakistan, as Zaman has been a key player in their batting lineup, especially following his impressive form leading up to the tournament.

With Zaman ruled out, Pakistan will need to make adjustments to their batting order ahead of the crucial clash against their arch-rivals on February 23. The team is already facing challenges, having lost SaimAyub to injury prior to the tournament. As they prepare for this high-stakes match, Pakistan will look to find a suitable replacement and maintain their title defense despite these setbacks.
