Fans look dejected after the India vs. England World Cup practice match got washed out

The warm-up match between the India and England cricket teams got abandoned because of rain on Saturday, which was played in Guwahati. The captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma, won the toss and decided to bat first against the defending champion England. However, the fans could only witness that the rain played a spoilsport. Left angry, some of the fans blamed the ICC for organizing the World Cup during this time of the year, and as a result, they also predicted that the rain would continue to dampen the mood of the fans throughout the tournament.

At the toss, captain Rohit Sharma said, "We're going to bat first. There's no particular reason; it’s very hot out there. I just want to make sure that our bowlers stay fresh and bowl under the lights, which is not going to be so taxing for the bowlers. We have been playing a lot of cricket off late, so we just want to make sure that we are looking after them. We just got to play good cricket; we played 7 or 8 games recently, and we want to make sure that the guys stay fresh for the 8th of October. We are playing one of the top teams, and everyone on the team is fit and ready to go.”
