Fans of the Indian Cricket Team are frustrated to see Mohammad Shami on the bench in the India versus Bangladesh World Cup Cricket

The India cricket team has decided to go unchanged, playing XI, for the World Cup 2023 clash between India and Bangladesh in Pune on Thursday, October 19, resisting the temptation to play Mohammed Shami.
While Shami has been sensational for the hosts over the years, he has been leapfrogged by Mohammed Siraj in the pecking order of late. With the team management keen to focus on batting depth, Shardul Thakur continues to play as the third seamer who would bat at No. 8.
However, fans on X weren't convinced with India playing Thakur ahead of Shami, as they felt the latter would have certainly given them another wicket-taking option. One of the fans said, “Today was such a good opportunity to give some game time to Shami. This whole batting depth is not thought-through. There is no point in trying Shami in just one game and then suddenly bringing him in for knockouts.” Another fan wrote, “Ye log shami ko kya directly final mein khilayenge?”
