For 2nd ODI match vs England, Team India's batting Coach confirms Virat Kohli is fully fit and he will be available

Virat Kohli has recovered from a sore right knee and is fit to play in the 2nd ODI against England in Cuttack. Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak confirmed Kohli’s availability.Kohli missed the first ODI in Nagpur due to the injury, which ended his streak of playing consecutive matches.

Shreyas Iyer replaced Kohli in the first ODI, scoring 59 runs. It remains uncertain who Kohli will replace in the lineup. One option is benching YashasviJaiswal, moving Shubman Gill to open, and Kohli to No. 3. Another option is Kohli batting at No. 3 and Gill at No. 4 if Shreyas Iyer is benched.

Kohli last played an ODI in August of last year. Despite recent scrutiny over his form, ODI cricket is considered his strongest format. He is 94 runs away from becoming the fastest player to reach 14,000 ODI runs.

Kohli’s return is crucial as India prepares for the Champions Trophy, but he faces a venue in Cuttack where he has averaged under 30 in 4 ODIs.
