For Boxing Day antics Australian media continues to slander “King” Called Him Clown

The Western Australia newspaper has unleashed a barrage of criticism against Virat Kohli following his recent altercation with Australian debutant Sam Konstas during the ongoing Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. Once hailed as “King,” Kohli has now been labelled a “clown” after the incident, where he shoulder-barged the 19-year-old in front of a packed MCG.

Kohli’s frustration was palpable as he failed to respond effectively to jeers from the crowd, contributing to a disappointing performance. After facing 85 balls, he fell victim to an unfortunate run-out involving Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 82 runs. As Kohli left the field, he exchanged words with fans who were quick to mock him.

The Australian media seized the opportunity to criticize Kohli, with headlines suggesting “Karma” for his earlier actions. The confrontation occurred after the 10th over when Kohli and Konstas collided while crossing paths. Despite initial concerns that Kohli might face a one-match ban for the incident, he was fined 20% of his match fee and received one demerit point for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct.

Konstas downplayed the incident, stating that he enjoys competing and prefers to keep on-field matters within the game. As Kohli’s struggles continue, the media narrative has shifted dramatically against him, highlighting the intense scrutiny faced by athletes at this level.
