For IND vs BAN 2nd Test Match, Shakib Al Hasan is still Doubtful

Ahead of IND vs BAN 2nd Test, Shakib al Hasan is still under observation because of the discomfort in his right-hand finger in the 1st Test in Chennai.A selector confirmed the decision on the inclusion of veteran in the playing XI for the 2nd Test in Kanpur is subject to the feedback that the selectors will receive from the physio. Shakib was unable to bowl to his full strength in the first game, with the finger injury making him feel uncomfortable most of the times.

As per the report selector Hannan Sarkar said that the team will not take a hasty call on Shakib al Hasan’s inclusion for the 2nd Test. He admitted that there were discussions around the pain in his right finger but said that he was cleared 100% before the 1st Test.

“We are heading to Kanpur tomorrow and today is a day off. We will have two sessions afterwards and we will judge after that. We don’t want to make a decision yet. These two days, the physio has kept him under observation. When we get back to the ground, we will get the physio’s feedback,” Hanan Sarkar said.

“I liked his batting. In his batting approach, compared to others and compared to how Shakib has batted before, he appeared very confident. He played with ease and handled the pressure. Yes, he didn’t score big but he is always important to the balance of the side,” he added.
