For IND vs BAN Test series Ace pacer likely to be rested
The star fast bowler of team India Jasprit Bumrah likely to get extended break, highly likely to be rested for India vs Bangladesh Test. While the remaining star players are likely to feature in Duleep Trophy, Bumrah won’t be a part of the same. On the other hand, there are considerable doubts regarding the selection of Bumrah in the IND vs BAN Test series.
After the heroics in the ICC T20 World Cup, Bumrah wasn’t a part of the IND vs SL T20I and ODI series. The head coach of India Cricket TeamGautamGambhir claimed that Bumrah is one of the best bowlers in the world and thus workload management is expected to play a huge part in his case.
Now Bumrah won’t be a part of the domestic setup as well. Ace batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are likely to feature in the opening round of the Domestic tournament. Furthermore, since India’s main attention in on the Border-Gavaskar trophy, Team India wants Bumrah to be fit.
Thus, given the IND vs BAN Test series will take place on the home soil, Bumrah is likely to be rested for the series. In his absence Mohammed Siraj is likely to spearhead the pace attack. Mohammed Shami will also make the cut if he regains fitness after his knee surgery.
