For maintaining a slow over-rate, Hardik Pandya was slapped with a Rs 24 lakh fine

The captain of Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya, got slapped with a fine of Rs 24 lakh for maintaining a slow over rate during the IPL 2024 match of his team against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow, on April 30, Tuesday. The other members of the playing XI, including the impact player, were fined Rs 6 lakh each or 25% of their match fee, whichever is less. MI suffered their third straight loss of the season as LSG secured a 4-wicket win.
The BCCI statement read, “Mr. Hardik Pandya, Captain, Mumbai Indians, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match 48 of the TATA Indian Premier League 2024 against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, on April 30, 2024.”
BCCI further added, “As it was his team’s second offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Pandya was fined INR 24 lakh. The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each individually fined either INR 6 Lac or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser.”
