For Mismanaging KL Rahul, India Great Lambasts Head Coach

Former India captain Kris Srikkanth has criticized head coach Gautam Gambhir for mismanaging KL Rahul’s batting position in the ongoing ODI series against England. Srikkanth believes Rahul, who has a strong record at No. 5, is being wasted by batting lower down the order at No. 6 or 7.

Srikkanth questioned the team management’s decision to prioritize Axar Patel over Rahul, suggesting it’s unfair to Rahul. While the left-hand-right-hand batting combination has been cited as the reason for the decision, Srikkanth remains unconvinced.

Srikkanth cautioned Gambhir against making frequent changes to the batting order, expressing concern that it could lead to a collapse in a crucial match. India has already sealed the series against England, winning the second ODI by four wickets. Rohit Sharma’s century and Ravindra Jadeja’s performance contributed to India’s victory. However, Srikkanth’s criticism highlights concerns about the team’s batting lineup. The 3rd ODI is scheduled for February 12 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
