For photographing family at Melbourne airport, Virat Kohli confronts journalist

Virat Kohli was involved in a heated exchange with an Australian journalist at Melbourne Airport upon arriving for the Boxing Day Test. The incident occurred on December 19 when Kohli landed with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and their children. According to reports, a journalist from Channel 7 filmed the family, which angered Kohli due to the invasion of privacy.

Kohli approached the journalist, requesting to see the footage and asking her to delete any images of his family while allowing her to keep any of him alone. He expressed his frustration, stating, “With my kids, I need some privacy. You can’t film without asking me.” Under Australian law, there are no restrictions on photographing celebrities in public places, complicating the situation.

Initially upset, Kohli later returned to clarify his stance. The journalist and cameraman assured him they were not filming his family, which helped ease the tension. Kohli's protective nature over his family is well-known; he had previously requested photographers not to take pictures of his family at Mumbai Airport before their trip to Australia.
